Robin Purcell - Fine Art Photography

I attended art school to become a painter and discovered that photography offered me the means to escape the enclosure of studios and freely explore natural environments and open spaces. As a photographer I roam… I hunt for those segments of vision that are interesting and unusual. For me, to photograph is to reveal what is overlooked. For me, photographing is scouting patiently, following the light, seeing pattern and rhythm unfold and capturing my vision.

I strive to find the extraordinary in the ordinary. I am drawn to quiet, pastoral scenes in nature and on farms, and I have a strong affinity for animals. I hope that the images I create will evoke a sense of peace or nostalgia for simpler times and ultimately, an appreciation for life that is mighty, fragile and full of grace.
